About Me.

Hi there! I’m Marianne, a UX/UI designer who believes good design should work for everyone. I hold an M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University and a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.

My path to UX wasn't linear. I always knew I wanted to help people, and in undergrad, my goal was to become a psychologist or a therapist. But when I discovered user experience design, I realized I could help people on a broader scale. Not one at a time, but through the products they use every day.

My approach to UX begins with a simple question: why does this need to exist, and who is it for? I believe the most important work happens before a single wireframe is created. It starts with talking to people. Understanding their needs, their frustrations, and empathizing with them. I've learned that if there is something you are struggling with, it's most likely that others are too.

Through my graduate studies and real-world projects, I've built experience across the full UX process, from research and wireframing to prototyping and usability testing. My background in psychology and human behavior informs my approach to design, helping me better understand user needs. A basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) also helps me collaborate more effectively with developers and design with feasibility in mind.

Outside of design, I like to draw, do Pilates, and spend a considerable amount of money on boba 🧋 . I also serve as President of The Loyola Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting overseas missions in developing countries, an experience that has shaped my leadership and collaboration skills.

Let's Keep in Touch
